Community Standards

The Chain is a marketplace where people connect directly to buy and sell property. To keep it safe and trustworthy, everyone must follow these Community Standards. They apply to everything you post or send, including listings, photos, profile and agency details, and private messages. By using The Chain you agree to these rules.

What is not allowed

The following content and behaviour are prohibited on The Chain:

Scams and fraudulent listings

No fake, fraudulent, or deceptive listings. This includes properties you have no right to sell or let, advance-fee or deposit scams, phishing, and any attempt to trick people out of money or personal information.

Harassment and threats

No harassment, bullying, stalking, intimidation, or threats of harm towards any person.

Hate and discriminatory abuse

No hateful, discriminatory, or dehumanising content targeting people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, or any other protected characteristic.

Sexual or explicit content

No sexual, pornographic, or otherwise explicit content, and no sexual solicitation.

Violent or illegal content

No content that promotes or depicts violence, and nothing that facilitates illegal activity, including the sale of illegal goods or services.

Impersonation

Do not impersonate another person, estate agent, agency, or organisation, or misrepresent your identity or your connection to a property.

Spam

No spam, repetitive or unsolicited promotion, bulk or automated messaging, or off-platform advertising.

Misleading property information

Listings must be accurate. Do not misstate price, location, size, condition, ownership, tenure, or availability, and do not use photos that do not represent the actual property.

Misuse of private messages

Private messages are for genuine property enquiries and discussions. Do not use them to harass, spam, scam, or send prohibited content, and do not share other people's private information without consent.

Reporting and blocking

If you see content or behaviour that breaks these standards, you can report it directly in the app using the Report option on:

• property listings;
• users and sellers, where available;
• messages you have received from another user.

Choose a reason and add any detail that helps our team review it. Reports are confidential. You can also email support@thechain.pro with enough detail to identify the listing, profile, or conversation. You can also block another user from your conversation with them to stop further contact. Consequences

We review reported content and may act on violations at our discretion. Depending on the severity, consequences can include:

• Removing or hiding a listing, photo, message, or other content
• Issuing a warning
• Temporarily suspending an account
• Permanently suspending or terminating an account for serious or repeated violations
• Reporting unlawful activity to the relevant authorities where appropriate

We aim to review reports promptly and to apply these standards fairly.
